Restaurant Startup
For the majority of 1984, I was engaged in a major restaurant startup in Warner Center. This involved a substantial conversion of the member's dining area of a tennis club into a facility that both serviced the club as usual but also became an important and viable public destination. I was involved from the startup, brainstorming the project and modeling it on Multiplan. I was involved heavily in pitch meetings with the financial partners and menu meetings with the chef partner. The capital budget was $175,000. for this renovation and startup.

I saw this project through all stages of construction, sourcing the POS system, the accounting systems, vendor relations, hiring (except for the cooking staff) and employee training. I stayed with the company for the first two months of operation until the shakedown period ended.

This facility has changed hands several times in the interval, but is now an important part of the "Trillium" property on Canoga Avenue. I believe the Cheesecake Factory currently inhabits the space.
