Work History
1974-1975
Watkins Glen, NY
Seneca Lodge
This enterprise was due to an encounter with an unusual man with powerful persuasive abilities. He was the owner of "Seneca Lodge," an old-time rustic cabin motel/dining room up on the hill over Watkins Glen, NY with a 225-acre farm attached. Don was determined to set agriculture back 100 years. He figured he could do this by selling Black Angus beef raised on a totally organic farm using low cost methods. I was the low cost method.

This idea crashed when my wife, the one of us more inclined to care about the purity of food, lost her scruples due to low cost living conditions at the farm during the winter of 1974-5. Up until then I was actually happy as a farm hand after my New York City years. The only nostalgia I had for cliche employment was the fine job driving a truck I still regretted leaving six years back.
